Lance Schuler
Lance is the director and owner of Integrated South Pacific Yoga Academy. He developed after a lifetime of personal practice and teaching experience, the unique synergy of Vinyasa and Iyengar styles that is primarily taught at Inspya. Lance is the principle teacher on the course. He qualified as an Iyengar yoga instructor with the Australian School of Yoga in Sydney and has been a senior teaching instructor for teacher trainees with Yoga Arts Australia for over seven years. He has been practicing yoga for twenty two years and teaching for seventeen. He has special interests in martial arts, acrobatics and meditation. Lance also teachers trainees and delivers retreats and workshops across the world.
Philipp Lemke
Phil started practising Yoga in 1992. He lived in India for seven years, studying Buddhist & Hindu Traditions of Philosophy, Meditation, and Yoga. His initial Yoga Teacher Training was at the Bihar School of Yoga (Satyananda), he also completed a 9 month Yoga Arts Teacher Training Certification. Phil teaches in Europe, Asia & Australia and is currently one of the core teachers on the 2 and 9 month Yoga Teacher Training courses with Yoga Arts. In addition to this he writes manuals for Yoga Teacher Training programs around the world. His main passion is to preserve the essence and ancient traditions of Yoga, and finding ways of integrating them into modern life.
Claire Priestley
Claire has been working with Lance for 4 years and teaches general classes for Inspya in Byron Bay. Recently Lance and Claire completed the dynamic and innovative Partner Yoga DVD which they co-wrote and produced. Claire has also co-produced and performed the asanas in "Yoga for Me and My Baby", a pre and post-natal yoga DVD. Claire has a highly disciplined yoga practise for over 8 years and lives in Byron with her husband and two children.
Frida Lezius
Frida has been practising yoga for over 10 years and teaching since 1998. She currently operates her own business Body Nature combining Yoga, Art and Therapy. Frida reads and interprets the history of a person as depicted in their physical body. She offers a blend of modalities including yoga asanas, breath, deep release massage and counselling. Frida facilitates a deep inner recognition of oneself to clear physical and emotional blocks and behaviours in the cellular memory. She also has a strong focus on awareness of inner alignment being the instigator of movement. Frida is teaching and exhibiting her artwork both in Australia and overseas.
Liz Costigan
Liz Costigan is a certified Yoga and Pilates Teacher who has been practicing yoga for eighteen years and teaching for seven. She is also a registered nurse and has a Bachelor of Health Science Degree. Liz has taught yoga workshops in both Japan and Europe. She has recently become a mother and continued her yoga practice and teaching throughout her pregnancy. Liz teaches a dynamic vinyasa style yoga which is suitable for both experienced and beginner students. An emphasis is placed on safety and alignment and adapting the practice to suit individual body types. She has also guided many women with their yoga practice during and after pregnancy. Liz is currently studying Iyengar Yoga under Senior Teacher Simon Marrocco.
Steve Hanmer
Steve has been practicing yoga and studying related esoteric teachings for over 15 years.
Having sustained a spinal injury at a very young age, Steve turned to yoga as a means of healing and regeneration. Years of yoga practice combined with mystical experiences have lead Steve on a natural progression towards tantra and a profound reverence for the cosmic principle Shakti (the divine transformative power). Consequently Steve now teaches yoga in the manner witch he calls Shakti Puja. Drawing upon the wisdom of many renowned teachers, classical hatha yoga and tantra, Steve presents techniques in a format witch are easily assimilated by the everyday yoga enthusiast. Nourishing for the practitioner on all levels of human experience, Shakti Puja offers the opportunity to reach ones highest possibility. With the grace of the Goddess/Shakti, ones life becomes yoga in its entirety; Shakti Puja is the cultivation of such grace. Steve has been involved in a number of work shops and teacher training programmes, in Australia and throughout Asia. He currently lives near Byron Bay Australia, holds regular classes and continues his trade as a self employed plumber.
Swami Layananda Saraswati
Laya has been practising and teaching yoga for thirty years. At a young age she was initiated into the Dashnama Sannyasa Order of Shankaracharya under the guidance of Paramahansa Satyananda Saraswati a Tantric Master.
Here she lived a disciplined yogic lifestyle living under her teachers guidance. Very early she was sent to ashrams throughout Australia to teach and set up yoga schools. This gave her a wide range of experiences. After 15 years of ashramic life she moved out into the modern world and delved even deeper into the ancient teachings as her personal practises became more focused and integrated the techniques and teachings into everyday life. In 2002 Laya was initiated into Tantric Tibetan Buddhism that opened doors to her enlightenment and learning broadening her understanding of Tantra. Nada Yoga, Kirtan, Raga and Bhajans, Mantra,Yantra, Chakras, Dharana Dhyana Meditations, Yoga Nidra, Koshas, Deity, Puja and Ritual, help her to guide students to achieve a point of concentration, internal harmony, balance and a step closer to achieving their true potential. She sees Tantra as the force that can liberate the mind from bondage especially in this materialistic time frame the Kali Yuga.
Jean Campbell
Jean Campbell has been practicing yoga since 1995. As a qualified yoga teacher, Jean has been running yoga teacher training courses in Australia for the last four years and is currently involved in workshops and teacher training's both at home and internationally. She has taught and practiced various styles including Iyengar, Ashtanga, Vinyasa, and pre and post natal yoga. With a great interest in the many aspects of yoga, Jean has travelled to India several times. She continues to further her study in Anatomy, Ayurveda and Yoga Philosophy.
Jeff Brown
Jeff Brown lives in Byron Bay, NSW and has been practicing yoga since 1999. As a qualified yoga teacher with experience in various styles of yoga, Jeff now travels both in Australia and internationally, running workshops as well as teaching on Teacher Training Courses.
Jacqui Scanlon
Jacqui is 43 years old and has been practicing yoga for 20 years. Growing up Jacqui was involved in the intense world of competitive gymnastics. Yoga is many things to Jacqui and has been the most powerful addition to her life. Through constant practice she has been able to nurture herself through stressful life situations and found a lightness in the process. She structures her teaching around stretching, breath awareness, core strength and overall body awareness. The aim is always to achieve lightness. Jacqui believes we can all find our own light if we strive for courage and endurance in our practice.
Susan Famularo
Susan has been living and working with nutrition for over 25 years. She is a Registered Nurse and qualified Natural Hygienist. She created and directed one of the first living food, fasting and detox centres and initiated living food workshops in Australia. Susan now lives in Byron Bay and continues to conduct live food workshops, detox/fasting programmes and directs and teachers the nutritional aspects on live food cheffing and nutritional 4 week residential certificate courses. She has also trained with some of the best in this field including Dr Gabriel Cousens and David Wolfe. Her knowledge and experience compliments her practical teaching manner which helps intiate the inspiration for change and growth in all aspects of health.
