BYRON BAY - THE TOWN
Cape Byron is Australia's most easterly point located on the north coast of New South Wales. Its numerous beaches, unspoilt hinterland and relaxed lifestyle, make Byron Bay a popular tourist destination. Byron Bay offers the perfect environment for those who insist on year-round organic produce, native gardens and ecological responsibility. It is a location perfect for personal renewal.
Byron Shire has a population of 30,000 and the town of Byron Bay is home to around ten thousand people. Byron Bay is located just off the Pacific Highway 800 kilometres north of Sydney and 175 kilometres south of Brisbane. Airports are located in Ballina 30 kilometres south, Coolangatta 60 kilometres north or in Brisbane 2 hours drive north. Connecting buses to airports and other major town centres arrive regularly in the centre of the Byron township.
Cars drive on the left-hand side of the road. The delightful climate in Byron Bay ranges from average summer temperature is 28C (88F) and winter's average is 20C (67F) (with cooler nights).
The Inspya studio is located seven kilometres south of the town centre, two kilometres from beautiful Broken Head beaches, and two kilometres from Suffolk Park which is a small retail centre with fruit & vegetable and convenience stores, chemist, restaurants and cafes and post office. If you take accommodation in Suffolk Park, a car is not necessary and many students ride push bikes.
ACCOMMODATION
There is a variety of accommodation to choose from in Byron Bay including several tranquil oceanside camp grounds. For those who prefer to 'camp' in luxury you will find everything from budget rooms, extravagant studios with ocean views and comfortable bed & breakfast properties all available with advance reservations.
A room in a shared house can cost from A$130 to $150 a week. If any accommodation assistance is required we are happy to assist and let us know on your application.
Inspya retreat has a tree house for rent and a caravan with deck, kitchen and compost toilet which can accommodate up to three people. Limited tent sites are also available on the Inspya property.
